Round judging notes

0 means little impact and 5 means a clear edge. These sliders support your notes; they do not override the chosen round score.

  • Judge effective striking and effective grappling first.
  • Use aggression for meaningful attempts that create offense, not just movement.
  • Use cage control as supporting context for space, position, and pressure.

How MMA round scoring works

MMA scorecards usually use a 10-point must format: the round winner receives 10 and the opponent receives 9 or less. Effective striking and grappling come first, with aggression and control used as supporting context.

Usage notes

  • Round scores come from the selected 10-9, 10-8, 10-7, or 10-10 value.
  • Deductions are subtracted from that fighter in the round.
  • Higher total shows the projected decision; equal totals show a possible draw.

Frequently asked questions

When should I mark a 10-8 round?expand_more

Use it when one fighter creates a clearly dominant round with damage, sustained offense, or strong control.

Do aggression and control always decide the round?expand_more

No. Effective striking and grappling come first. Aggression and control are best used when the effective work is close.

Is this an official scorecard?expand_more

No. It is a review and note-taking tool. Official decisions follow the judges and the event ruleset.
