Logistics planning notice

This tool is a planning aid only. Actual freight charges, customs treatment, chargeable weight, carrier rules, warehouse limits, and contractual terms must be confirmed with the carrier, forwarder, warehouse, or official shipping documents.

How the container loading estimate works

The planner compares CBM, internal dimensions, rotation rules, stacking, pallet handling, realistic loading efficiency, and payload limits for common dry containers.

Usage notes

  • CBM = length x width x height x quantity after converting dimensions to meters.
  • Air volumetric weight uses CBM x 167 kg, and express volumetric weight uses CBM x 200 kg as reference values.
  • 20FT, 40FT, 40HC, and 45HC internal dimensions and payload limits are compared to suggest a practical mix.
  • Real loading ratio is a planning estimate that leaves space for mixed cargo, pallets, handling gaps, and lashing.

Frequently asked questions

Will this match the final stuffing plan exactly?expand_more

No. Final loading depends on packaging strength, weight balance, lashing, forklift access, and carrier equipment specifications.

Can I mix cartons and pallets?expand_more

Yes. Add multiple cargo rows and set rotation, laying down, stacking, and stack limits for each row.

Why use a realistic loading ratio?expand_more

Pure CBM can overstate capacity because workers need handling space and cargo does not always tessellate perfectly.
